Skye Guides- the Best Guiding for Skye and the Cuillin. We specialise in providing high quality professional mountain guiding and climbing instruction on the Isle of Skye.

Welcome to the Skye Guides Website- designed to inspire and inform. No competitive sales hype, just straight advice on how best to achieve your ambitions.

Many visitors don’t realise that…

The Black Cuillin range is the most complex and technical mountain environment in the British Isles, with a history of guiding dating back to the early 1800s. Ropes are used on the majority of the 22 rocky peaks; they are not like any other British hills.

Why Skye Guides?

No other company has the depth of knowledge and experience of guiding on Skye. Based on the island and established in 1995, we promote private, low ratio guiding as the way for clients achieve the most from their day. Large groups in this terrain are slow, a frustrating process for all involved, and ultimately more dangerous. This business model attracts the very best guides and instructors.

Our Guides are all professionally qualified climbers, trained to guide and instruct using the best industry practices for safety and enjoyment. A passion for the Cuillin and intimate knowledge of these unique mountains unites our close-knit team that work hard to turn your ambitions into reality.

Contact Us to discuss ideas and ambitions; all we ask is that you are fit and adventurous. Guiding is available year round, for any level of ability and experience, for individual days or dedicated courses. We have our own climber’s hostel Skye Basecamp in Broadford with discounted rates for guiding clients.

Browse our Blog for tales and pictures of the Ridge Traverses, Inaccessible Pinnacle, Rock climbing and Winter mountaineering. The Infocentre is based on 27 years of Cuillin climbing and living on the island.

The Isle of Skye is famous for having some of the most beautiful, dramatic and diverse scenery in the world. Guiding is available for photographers, film-makers, naturalists or anyone else visiting this magical island. We look forward to showing you our wonderful island and the best mountains in Britain.
