Mike Mason MCI

Mike is a new member of the Skye Guides team for 2021 but has been guiding in the Cuillin for the previous 3 years. His calm steady demeanour will steady even the most nervous of guests. His geological knowledge is far better than most and a wealth of expedition experiences are always told with passion and a grin πŸ˜‰

He lives in Kinlochleven  and is an active member of Glen Coe mountain rescue team.

“I have been hill walking for as long as I can remember, and took to rock climbing at a young age too. Since then mountaineering has taken me all over the UK and Europe as well as Morocco, Russia, Norway, Tanzania, the Andes, Oman and The UAE. I have been working in the outdoor industry in a variety of rolls for over ten years. I also have a degree in geology, and sometimes can’t help but get excited by the cool rocks I find at the crag or out in the mountains.”
