Welcome to Skye Guides. We have a reputation for providing safe, successful and inspiring outings for our customers. Established in 1995 the company is run by Mike Lates who is author of the forthcoming Scottish Mountaineering Club guidebook to climbing in the Cuillin.

Skye Guides are climbers with a serious passion for their patch. We know that we have the best mountains in Britain and are confident that we provide climbing adventures that are second to none. Acres of unclimbed rock accompanies the hundreds of classic routes already established. Winter or summer, guiding and instruction for individual days or five-day courses is available for all levels of ability.

This passion is passed on to every client, making the Cuillin Munros mountains to enjoy and not fear.

The Cuillin Ridge Traverse is a much sought after prize and Skye Guides aim to make any attempt both successful and enjoyable. Success rates are very high (9 from 11 starts this season) but this is only achieved by vetting clients for suitability and a huge amount of effort from both clients and Skye Guides.

The Black Cuillin are the only place in the UK where a truly Alpine experience can be had.Guiding in the Swiss and French Alps is also available through Skye Guides. Training courses are run on Skye in advance to get you and your group well prepared.

The Isle of Skye is famous for having some of the most beautiful, dramatic and diverse scenery in the world. Inspirational ideas, information, instruction and guiding are all available for anyone visiting this magical island.
