We’re delighted to have Tim back again this season, having joined the Skye Guides team in October 2024. He’s now half way through the IFMGA scheme, the highest international qualification for mountain guiding available. We’re hoping for more weeks of solid sunshine, similar to what he brought with him last year!
Tim grew up climbing around the sea cliffs and moorlands of the South West, and has travelled to climb across the world, enjoying classic routes in places such as New Zealand, Australia, America, Canada and Pakistan. He loves rock climbing and alpine climbing, and his favourite days out are those sharing adventures and teaching skills along the way. Tim is currently training to be an IFMGA Mountain guide.
Tim was an excellent guide and good company. We picked up some useful advice which will make our hillwalking/climbing adventures a bit more safe. No drama at all during our climb to the summit of the 4 most adventurous Munros on Skye. Sign of a good mountain guide. Kolbjorn Akselvoll
