James Boothroyd IFMGA Scheme

James is back for a second season with the Skye Guides team. He is half-way through the IFMGA scheme, the highest international qualification for mountain guiding available.

He started climbing as a teen in the Peak District then moved to Chamonix where his love for big mountains and exposure grew.

“I love long routes in the mountains and introducing people to the joys of climbing. My top Cuillin experience was guiding dad up the In Pinn on my first foray in 2019!”

Just a quick note to say what a great time we had with James last week. It’s a great setup you’ve got and James is a credit to your team. We got all 7 we targeted completed despite the weather and James kept us right at all times. Terrain was phenomenal and it even cleared up for an In Pinn finish.

Just wanted to let you know what a great day we had with James on Fri. He was absolutely excellent and it felt like climbing with a mate, but safer and with substantially more skilled haha! It was pitched perfectly for us and we’ll be back! Francis & Beth
