Andy Brown MCI

Andy joined the Skye Guides team in May 2023 and we’re delighted to have him back for his 3rd season.

Growing up in the Fenlands in the east of England, probably the flattest places in the UK, it was no wonder that as soon as Andy went to the mountains he was hooked. Based in North Wales now, he still spends a lot of time up in the Highlands with Skye being one of his absolute favourite places.

Whether its Skiing in Canada, kayaking in Nepal or climbing in the Alps Andy enjoys all mountain sports…..Maybe not MTB! His biggest achievement to date though is summiting Ama Dablam 6812m in Nepal November 2024 “the hardest thing I’ve ever done!”

My first encounter with the Cullin was a daring (stupid) attempt at the whole Traverse in a day…. in a heat wave….. with little water. The party binned it off just before the end as they physically couldn’t go up any further.
